Elements of Care
Shortly after a new client arrives at our center, we guide them through a brief but comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment. The information we gather during this process will allow us to identify the services that will be most beneficial for them.
Depending on your loved one’s history and current needs, their personalized treatment plan at CCI may include elements such as the following:
- Medication Management: Depending on the symptoms your loved one has been experiencing, medication may provide some relief. We can prescribe and manage their use of antidepressants, antipsychotics, and other appropriate medications.
- Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT): DBT has proved to be an effective service for people who have personality disorders. DBT sessions focus on four skill areas: distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS): TMS may help people with personality disorders who also have symptoms of depression or anxiety. TMS sessions involve the painless application of focused electromagnetic pulses to stimulate certain areas of the brain.
- Cognitive Remediation Therapy: This therapeutic approach, which is sometimes referred to as cognitive enhancement therapy, can help your loved one achieve improved functioning in memory, attention, organization, and information processing.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy: Multiple studies indicate that EMDR therapy can be a beneficial type of treatment for people with personality disorders who have a history of adverse childhood experiences or other trauma.
These are just a few examples of the many therapies and adjunct services that our team can provide to your loved one. When you contact us directly, we can discuss the specific challenges your loved one has been facing and offer a more detailed description of the elements of care that may be most appropriate for them.
While your loved one is in our care, our team will work with them and you to ensure they are receiving maximum benefit from the services that are included in their treatment plan.
