Admissions

The goal of the Crownview admissions team is to connect people with the mental health care they need as quickly and efficiently as possible. Once you have had a brief phone conversation with a member of our admissions team, you can expect a rapid decision, followed by intake arrangements or help locating a more suitable placement.

Admissions Criteria

At Crownview Psychiatric Institute, we make every admissions decision on an individual basis. Before we accept a prospective client, we want to be sure that we are prepared to provide them with the level of service and support they need.

With that understanding, our general admissions criteria are as follows:

  • We serve adults of all genders, age 18 and above.
  • New clients must have a primary diagnosis of a mental health disorder.
  • Clients may also have a co-occurring disorder.
  • We cannot accept clients who are seeking care for an eating disorder or a primary substance use disorder.

For additional details about our admissions criteria, or to get answers about our center’s ability to help you, a loved one, or a patient who is currently under your care, please contact us directly at your convenience.

Streamlined Process

When you are seeking help for someone in crisis, we understand that time is of the essence. For this reason, we have worked diligently to develop a streamlined, stress-free admissions process.

When you contact our admissions department, here’s what you can expect:

  • The professional who takes your call will gather some basic information about the person who needs care. This includes requesting insurance information so we can verify coverage.
  • If we determine that the prospective client is a good fit for our programming, we will authorize their admission and set a date for intake.
  • We will also provide you with a transparent quote for the full cost of treatment.

In most cases, once you’ve provided the necessary information, you will have your answer within a few hours.

If at any point we determine that the individual would be better served at another center, we can work with you to make an appropriate referral to a trusted provider.

Do You Need Care for Yourself or a Loved One?

If you are calling us to seek treatment for yourself or someone in your family, here are the types of questions we may ask:

  • Can you describe the symptoms you (or your loved one) have been experiencing?
  • When did the symptoms begin, and how have they impacted the person’s ability to function?
  • Where is the person who needs care right now? Are they home, in a hospital, or somewhere else?
  • What are your expectations for treatment? As specifically as possible, how can we help?

If you or your loved one have previously been in treatment, we may ask you to contact the previous facility to get the treatment records or arrange for their transfer to our center. The more we understand about the individual’s prior treatment experiences, the better prepared we will be to offer the most meaningful help.

Also, please have your insurance card with you when you call. Without the information on that card, we will be unable to verify your coverage. This can delay the process of getting you or your loved one into treatment.

Important note: If you have insurance through United Healthcare, you will need to contact them first and give permission for them to release your benefit information to us. They will provide you with an authorization number, which you can relay to us when you call.

If you have any questions about this or any other aspect of our admissions process, please contact us at your earliest convenience. From your first call throughout your entire experience with Crownview, we are here to provide you with the answers you need, so that you can make the most informed decisions for yourself or on behalf of your loved one.

Are You Referring a Client or Patient?

If you are a treatment professional who is seeking a placement for a client or patient, please have the following ready when you contact us:

  • A description of the individual’s current symptoms
  • Any diagnostic information or records of prior treatment
  • The individual’s current location
  • The individual’s insurance information
  • Contact information for the individual’s family

Once we have the data we need, our goal is to make an admissions decision as quickly as possible. If your client or patient is accepted into our program, we will make the necessary transfer arrangements. If for some reason we cannot accommodate the individual, we can help you find an alternative placement.

The path to a healthier tomorrow starts here.

When a severe mental health disorder disrupts your ability to participate in the basic activities of daily life, you may need to spend time away from your typical daily environment and the factors that exacerbate the symptoms of your disorder. Our residential treatment program gives you the time and space you need to get the individualized, targeted care that can help you work toward a full, fulfilling, and independent life.

Time spent in immersive residential treatment – where your only goal is to learn, heal, and grow – can make all the difference. We specialize in supporting patients with challenging disorders, patients who have not experienced success in other programs, and patients who need the expert guidance of skilled treatment professionals who specialize in complex mental health disorders.
